Every 10 minutes, one woman dies on account of pregnancy or childbirth in Nigeria. More than a quarter of the estimated 1 million children who die under the age of 5 years annually in Nigeria die during the first 28 days of life. Prevention could save most of these mothers and about 9 out of 10 of the newborn's deaths.
I am Dr Yomi and I dedicated the last 13 years of my life to mothers and children of Nigeria. My goal is to raise $50,000 by the end of February to help as many mothers and children as possible.
What will you do with my money?
Prevention is key.
The money will be used to buy moskito tents (net) and delivery kits for pregnant women. Malaria is a huge problem in Nigeria and the tents are part of a strategy to control it.
Here is what it looks like before we distribute the nets and delivery kits:

... and when I show how to use the tents:

As for children, basic hygiene packs containing tooth paste, tooth brush, soap and sponges will be distributed.
Can you see the smile on their faces when they get their pack?

Why do you do this ?
Healthcare in Africa is a major Challenge and you may not know and appreciate that what kills a woman in pregnancy are basic things that you take for granted in your country.
I was raised by my mother single handedly and afterward she died weeks after I completed my medical training. I was shattered and disillusioned about life having planned how I was going to make her happy in life.
All that... gone.
There and then I determine to convert the pains into pleasure by devoting a portion of my income to helping mothers and children. And I've been doing it for the last 13 years.
Here is a picture with my mother, the inspiration of this beautiful project.

Are you alone helping mothers and children ?
Of course not! My team and I work hard to make it happen. Without them, I could not do it. I'm happy to share a picture of them.

If you can read this, it means you read it all! Wow, I'm amazed that you cared enough about my work to read from top to bottom. Now, I simply hope you will help me in my mission to help other. No matter the amount, I will be grateful. And if you can't donate, please consider sharing my campaign.
Thanks in advance,
Dr Yomi
