As you may know, our friend and distinguished paleontology colleague, Dr. Jim Kirkland, has recently struggled with some serious health issues related to COPD. As a result, Jim spent some time in the ICU, and, in the very near future, he will need specialized care and equipment. Medical bills are starting to pile up, and insurance will only be covering a fraction of them. 

This campaign is intended to help Jim and his family cover the expenses discussed above and, as much as possible, to provide Jim access to essential future care.
