This past year has been a time of profound change and growth for me. After leaving a long and difficult marriage, I’ve spent the past months rediscovering who I am and what truly matters. Through this journey, I’ve realized that my greatest fulfillment comes from serving others. In February, I learned about International Medical Relief (IMR) and made a promise to myself that I would join their mission trip to Jaipur, India. Despite the financial and emotional challenges of my divorce, I am determined to follow this calling and give back in a meaningful way.

As a registered nurse with 21 years of experience, I have worked in the operating room, performed nursing assessments, triaged patients, and provided education to both patients and the community. On this mission, I’ll be working with IMR to set up clinics in areas with minimal resources. Our team will register patients, complete assessments, and provide treatments such as dental care, deworming, and minor health interventions. We’ll also offer vital education on hygiene, nutrition, and wound care. For those with urgent or complex needs, IMR uses its resources to help secure transportation and cover medical costs.

What excites me most is the chance to make a real difference—whether it’s seeing someone smile because of compassionate care or connecting with others who share a passion for service. This trip is also a personal milestone: I’ll be traveling independently, visiting the Taj Mahal, and returning with a new perspective on gratitude and purpose.
