I am honored to be going on a mission trip to Sayyi, Uganda with a team of other doctors and medical professionals in February 2023. The area we will be visiting is extremely rural and economically depressed. It is not uncommon for the men, women and children of this village to walk 7-10 miles to receive any sort of medical care.
We will have multiple focuses while we are there. We will be helping families receive vaccines, improved hygiene, improved nutrition, as well as medical and obstetrical care. We will also be bringing along clothing and comfort items.
Our main focus is to help fund the continued construction of the Tsiyon Family Hospital . This building began as a one-room clinic and has now grown to a five-story hospital. They still have major structural needs, such as a functioning elevator, industrial washers and dryers, permanent floors that can be bleached and disinfected, and sanitary covers for the waiting room chairs that have been graciously donated. The cost of transport and delivery of these items to such a remote and isolated area is quite costly.
Part of this initiative is to provide medical and emergency services to the people of this community without disrupting their cultural needs. These funds will help transport us into the communities where medical needs can be met, should they be unable to come to us.
Any funds raised will be directly donated to Building Up: Partnering In Health and Wholeness, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
Please donate whatever feasible for you and share, share, share on every social platform!
