Medical & Memorial Donations for Nancy Kaiser

Donation protected
Hello, My name is Ashlee. I am the oldest grand daughter for Nancy and Russell Kaiser.

I am starting this GoFundMe to raise funds to cover the unexpected medical costs of my Grams' hospital stay prior to her passing. We are looking for donations in lieu of gifts and flowers to support and ease the burden of the medical expenses associated with giving her as comfortable last few days as possible. As some may know, Nancy was ill for a few months prior to December 2023 with MRSA infection after attending the emergency room for knee and hip pain. She fought diligently and was on an uptrend when she found it difficult to breathe and was sent back to the hospital, where she was diagnosed with Covid-Pneumonia. A few days later she passed surrounded and cloaked with love by her family.

After we all went home to spend time with my Papa (Nancy's Husband of 49 years) we opened a bill from the hospital showing the due balance of $28,000 for her first hospital stay with the MRSA infection. On top of this bill, we expect a large balance to follow suit with the most recent hospitalization of pneumonia.

With her health taking a turn for the worst so quickly, we all were unprepared for the 2 large medical bills and cost of funeral services. Our goal is to try and ease the financial impact put upon the family and prepare for her final medical expense bill.

We know that Nancy made a huge impact on the community of Buena Vista, her co-workers and of course her family. It is in this time that we hope her kindness and care can be returned in a small way.

For those of you who can donate, we thank you from the bottom of all of our hearts. If you're unable to donate, we ask that you do so in another way; by writing a story or memory of your interaction with Nancy so that we can all rejoice, laugh and cherish memories not our own.

Obituary for Nancy Kaiser:
Nancy Nadine (Reid) Kaiser, 68, of Buena Vista, went home to be with the Lord, on December 12th, 2023.
She is survived by her husband Russell Kaiser, her brothers Dale Reid and Randy Reid, her sister Cheryl Johnson, her daughters Karen (Barry) White and Heather (Matthew) Simpson, and her granddaughters Ashlee White, Bobbie White, McKenna Simpson, and Kendall Simpson.
On June 8th, 1974, Russell and Nancy married in Leadville, Colorado and began their 49 year journey. Together they raised two girls while owning and operating the Pinon Court Motel of Buena Vista. After a few jobs around town, helping the community, she began her most notable job at Collegiate Peaks Bank as the Head Bank Teller (Mama Nancy). During her 18 year long career, Nancy became a pillar in the community through her positive interactions, handing out “dumdum” suckers, dressing up for Gold Rush Days, and being voted Teller of the Year for multiple years. Aside from her career, her most important job was being the centerpiece of the family and bringing everyone together.
Nancy loved the Lord and embodied the belief and values of her faith.
