This GoFundMe is for Tina Colvin-Luckey and Cliff Luckey. Tina has been my best friend since we were 5 years old, and I know in a million years, she would never ask for this help. She had no idea I did this GoFundMe, but they are just dealing with so much right now. My heart breaks for her. I’m hoping if we can pull together, at least they won’t have to worry as much about medical, meal, and funeral expenses. 

Here’s a snapshot of her 2021 up to this point:

In the Spring, they found out her dad has prostate cancer. Tina took time away from work and was driving from Leavenworth to Turner to take her dad to radiation treatments.

About a month ago (August 2021), Tina’s son Zack (age 23) had become very sick. Upon taking him to the doctor, they said he needed to get to the ER, because they suspected severe kidney dysfunction. After being admitted to the hospital, Zack was diagnosed with end stage renal failure and will need a kidney transplant. He is now getting dialysis 3x week until he can get the transplant. In the meantime, he has to follow a very strict diet for renal failure, so there are very few meal shortcuts they can take right now due to the restrictions on sodium, dairy, phosphorus, etc.

But Tina, Cliff, and Zack have been dedicated to reading all food labels, no longer eating out, and preparing meals at home based on the strict limitations required to keep Zack as healthy as possible in preparation for his kidney transplant.

Meanwhile, at her parent’s house, one of their grandchildren, who live with them, brought home COVID.

Both of Tina’s parents contracted COVID and had to be hospitalized. Sadly, her mom Alice, passed away today (Sept 6) and her dad is still hospitalized.

Between Zack’s medical bills, lots of driving back & forth between their home in Leavenworth and Kansas City, funeral expenses for her mom, and likely needing to take some unpaid time off work, I would love it if we can at least make money one less thing weighing heavy on their minds.

I’ve found a renal diet meal delivery service (Magic Meals), so some of the money can be used to make it a little easier to make sure Zack is getting the appropriate food without having to put so much time and thought into right now.
