Shelly was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer in September. Stage 4 as it had already spread to the brain. After 2 rounds of chemotherapy she started to have terrible side effects. Double vision and extreme fatigue. After a couple more, she could no longer walk, she could hardly talk, was hard for her to even lift her arm. She couldn’t hardly open her eyes and had to wear a patch over one so she could see. All of this had been brushed of by her oncologist as just side effects(was mentioned many times to him)After multiple trips to the ER, they found out she had swelling of the brain. She was seconds away from cardiac arrest. Now in ICU she is on a ventilator and being given medication SLOWLY, as she has a terrible reaction to it the first day. With all of this happening Dan has been her caregiver and hasn’t been able to leave her side and go fishing. So there has been no income.
