Medical Help for Phil Bialobzyski

Dear family, friends, and kind strangers,

My dad, Phil Bialobzyski, suffered a stroke on April 16th, 2025 in Darwin, Australia. He is receiving the care he needs at the Royal Darwin Hospital by an amazing team of nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals. As he is ineligible for Australian Medicare, and was not covered by private insurance at the time of his stroke, we are seeking support for his medical and repatriation expenses.

Phil is an intrepid traveler, known for his sense of humor and adventurous spirit. Everyone who knows him has a story ! Phil is a Canadian Air Force Veteran, and after retiring from Coast Mountain College used his talents as a teacher and storyteller to lecture at the Catholic University in Lviv, driven to support higher education during a time of conflict.

Any funds raised will be used to help cover his medical expenses and repatriation to Canada. Costs include:

Phil's eldest daughter Emma has flown from Canada to Darwin to support him through the acute phase of his recovery and repatriation to Canada.

Phil has sailed across the Drake Passage to Antarctica and ventured on weeks-long solo canoe expeditions in the Northwest Territories, never backing down from an adventure. His trip home and recovery from stroke may be his most challenging journey yet.
