The year 2020 has proven to be challenging , to say the least. We have all suffered some changes in our normal way of life. However, for some, the challenges have proven to be a great deal more than the need to restructure the way we think and live. While Covid 19 is the big health headline, as well it should be, there are people dealing with additional concerns. One of these people is Peter Glover, Sr. He was diagnosed with a Spindle Cell Carcinoma, an extremely aggressive cancer. Because it is so aggressive, the doctors chose to remove the tumor as quickly as possible. After additional testing, they determined that it had not mestastized. The reality though, was that Pete’s surgery would involve the loss of the foot and leg above the tumor. He is currently undergoing rehab to train him to deal with the loss before he can return home. Their home is an older house that requires widening doorways. An accessible ramp is required so that Pete can get in and out of the house. There will be months of care, therapy, and, eventually, a prosthesis. The current and continuing expenses will be more than they are able to handle without help.
Pete is a big gentle man who loved playing Santa every year. He is not able to spend the holidays with his "puppies" (grandkids) this year due to the risk of Covid exposure. His biggest hope for this Christmas, is to be home.
Any contribution will be much appreciated.
