Hi friends and family,

It’s with heavy hearts that we share some difficult news — our mum has recently suffered a stroke.

Over the past few years, mum has faced a number of health challenges, particularly with her lungs going in and out of hospitals. Despite everything, she has continued to show incredible strength and resilience. Sadly, while we were travelling to Papua New Guinea over Christmas, mum experienced a stroke, which has changed everything very suddenly.

We are holding onto hope and doing everything we can to support her recovery. Our biggest wish right now is to bring mum back to Australia as soon as possible, so she can receive the care she needs and be surrounded by family during this incredibly difficult time.

While the medical facilities in PNG are doing their best to care for mum, we feel incredibly grateful that she will be able to access her medical teams in Australia, who know her history and can best support her recovery journey.

Anyone who knows our mum knows she is one of the funniest, most loving people in our family. Seeing her go through this has been heartbreaking, stressful, and emotionally overwhelming for all of us.

This is the first time we’ve ever created a GoFundMe, and it’s not something we ever imagined needing to do. Right now, this feels like the only way we can ask for help to support mum and our family during this moment.

We are hoping for a medical evacuation back to Australia, however this is extremely challenging and costly for our family. Any funds raised will go towards supporting this process and ensuring mum can access the medical care she needs, both in PNG and upon her return home.
