Medical help for Matthew Stevens

First off, let me say, this campaign is for someone who nothing short of amazing! Matt “Mattie” Stevens has been a co-worker of mine for the last 10 years. More importantly, he has been a phenomenal friend, mentor, and more or less a member of my family. There is not enough room on this page to describe the love and admiration I have for him. He has been there for not only me, but others, through thick and thin. He is not the type to ever give up on anything or anyone, and always is willing to lend a hand. He has recently been diagnosed with cancer of his kidney. He was having some major pain and blood in his urine. Dr.’s found he had a cancerous tumor on his left kidney that is 2/3rds the size of his kidney. Thankfully he is having surgery the 17th of this month at Cancer Treatment Centers of America here in Goodyear  AZ. While he is able to keep his other kidney, he will be out of work for awhile not only healing, but adjusting to life with only one kidney. He will be going through Chemotherapy and Radiation following the surgery as well, to make sure any further cancerous cells are diminished. He is not the type to take hand outs or charity, and he was very reluctant to allow me to do this for him. He is the type to put himself out to help someone, not the other way around. I simply asked him, “would you do this for someone else?”......at that point he agreed. We all know someone, or are related to someone who has been through cancer at some point in their lives. Mattie, at only 39 years of age is too young to have to be battling this, but he is. Matt has overcome some major obstacles in this life, but it never has stopped him from living life and carrying on the best he can. He is the youngest of 3 siblings, and his parents, Rick and Cheryl are all fighting for his successful recovery. He is not only a great friend, but a loving father to his daughter Liz and his new grandson. Please join me in helping out a good man get back on his feet after such a big surgery, and life changing event. Any help, big, small, or somewhere in between would be greatly appreciated. To have Matt in your life is an automatic positive, he is the type that makes the world a better place. We love you brother, we are all here for you!
