Medical Bill help for a man who helped others
Donation protected
Update: It is with great sadness to report that Glenn Hilzen passed away from cancer on October 13, 2023. Glenn fought a courageous battle over 3 years that included several difficult surgeries, radiation, and chemo/drug treatments. Glenn epitomized the human spirit of never giving up and maintained his optimism and humor till the end. He worked right up to his last day, even while in Hospice. Through his dedication to service to others, Glenn has connected over 1500 under-employed New Yorkers to construction careers.
Glenn was a proud man and it was hard for him to ask for help. With the high cost of medical treatments even with health insurance, and his commitment to always paying his obligations, he recognized he needed financial help. He used the donations only for medical expenses with a dedicated account. Our donations enabled Glenn to pay his medical bills and concentrate on fighting his cancer instead of worrying. I'm sure this helped to extend his life and I know it gave him a better quality of life in his final months.
Unfortunately, health insurance does not cover all of the high costs of fighting cancer. There are still unpaid bills his family must deal with. I was fortunate to FaceTime with Glenn shortly before he passed. He thanked me for what I had done to help, and asked if we did something more with GoFundMe we only do it after his death.
So I am asking one more time if you are able, to donate so Michele and the kids can concentrate on mourning and spiritual recovery and ease the financial burden that still remains. Our last donations were investment that helped to maintain an exceptional human being in our world. Thank you all once again for your generous donations and any assistance we can give Glenn's family.

My final words to Glenn were "If you must go now, know you will be missed but not forgotten. I will see you on the other side". Thank you, Bob Loughlin
