Hello Friends,
I am coming to you to tell you about my dear friend Fran. There are a lot of words I could use to describe her but the one that would describe her best, is Phenomenal.
Fran Mazza-Ruocco is the loving wife of Denise Mazza-Ruocco and devoted mother to Aaliyanna (17), Kyler(16) & Toni(15).....in addition to being an amazing cook.
I met Fran in 1999 when Denise introduced me to her as a coworker and friend, but I could tell then that there was a love story in the making.
Fran & Denise started as friends and then fell in love, thus beginning the foundation of the family that was to come. I had the honor of standing up at their wedding in 2001 and again when they renewed their vows in 2011. I have been privileged to be a part of watching them adopt and raise their 3 beautiful children from infancy to teenagers and building a wonderful life together.
Together Fran & Denise have been pillars of their community by fostering children for the state of NY and rescuing numerous dogs, in addition to financially supporting their local animal rescue groups. They have never turned away anyone who needed help no matter the circumstance. I have seen them take friends in who had nowhere to go and provide financial assistance to friends who were struggling to provide for their own families. Fran & Denise have never turned anyone away and have always opened their home to anyone in need. They are indeed, phenomenal.
In October of 2019, Fran recieved the devastating diagnosis that she had Glioblastoma. For those that don't know, Glioblastoma is a debilitating form of brain cancer that is very difficult to treat and often has a grim prognosis. For those that know Fran, she was determined to fight and carry on. Like any mother, Fran's priority is to survive for her children. Not an easy task when battling such a devastating illness, but it's one that Fran is determined to win.
Fran had her surgery in November of 2019 and began the difficult and painful radiation and chemo treatments. As the treatments and have progressed the medical bill's have also begun to take a toll on the family.
Even with treatment, Fran's current condition means that she can no longer walk and must now use a wheelchair.
Denise is currently caring for Fran and their children as well as maintaining their home and that too is taking a toll. Because she has taken time from work to care for Fran, Denise has been relying on the family savings to meet the incredible financial burden that this illness has brought on their family. The time for Denise to go back to work or lose her job is fast approaching. With 3 teenagers it will be an extra burden that this family does not deserve to face.
They are a proud family and they will continue to be a proud family. I have taken it upon myself to set up this page, in the hope that we can raise funds to help this wonderful family in their time of need. I am asking for the support of our friends and family to help the Mazza-Ruocco family through this difficult time.
