Hi everyone,
We are currently raising funds for Mr. Asher. At Asher’s 3 month appointment it was noticed he has a flat spot on side of his head which was caused by a case of torticollis (a condition causing his head to turn to one side). Working at home with Asher we were able to improve his range of move but the flat spot remained. We were referred to a specialist and it was determined Asher has plagiocephaly (a fancy word for flat head syndrome).
Unfortunately there is a limited amount of time to try and correct plagiocephaly before a babies skull fuses. There are several issues that can come about if this condition goes untreated but unfortunately his insurance considers this to be cosmetic and will not approve a helmet unless he has surgery on his skull first. We, obviously, don’t want for it to ever get to that point.
At this time, due to his age and normal growth spurts they are predicting Asher will need at least one if not two helmets while treating. After he receives his helmet Asher will have weekly appointments in Austin for adjustments and measurements.
Our family is asking for help with the cost of $2000 for his helmet.
