Medical Health Missionary Trip

Have you ever made a decision that you understood would make a dramatic and long lasting impact on your family and the rest of your life? I think we all have had this type of experience during our life and below is a shortened version of my story.
My wife and I have always been big planners and goal oriented due to our childhood life and the dream of having a piece of the American Dream. We really did not know God well during our childhood and our prayer and bible life was non-existent (for the most part). Looking back God had always been reaching out to us in love but while in college (both graduated from MSU) God sent a bible worker to reach out to my wife. Although, we did not know we needed a relationship with God the emptiness, somethings missing and discouragement we felt throughout most of the time vanished/was taken away once we gave our life's to God while attending college. The present truths we found in the Bible helped to solidify the reality of a loving, never changing, well ordered God that would accept us where we were at but loved us too much to leave us as where we were.
Fast forwarding a few years ahead, we had a beautiful four year old girl, two year old boy, and a newborn son that increased the level of responsibility we felt for living a Christ-like example in order to lead our children to Heaven. While working for a chemical company located in Midland, Michigan I began to notice that I was not spending enough time with my children or with my wife and the effects were beginning to be noticed. Due to my desire to provide the best for my children (financially) I was spending over 50-60 hours per week on work responsibilities but neglecting my home. I thought that a change of employment would help reset everything and while I was searching for a better job my dream job came up. This role provided a great career improvement, closer proximity to both of our families, and an experience in the grocery section of business. But God used this perceived blessing as a means to let go of many of the attachments that would have prevented me from saying "yes" to His call. These attachments where my loving church family, my beautiful country home, and my desire to continue to climb the career ladder.
The message was clearly presented to me by God that I would need to change my goals and give up my job in order for Him to use me most effectively. As the only bread winner in the family I thought this was impossible but the conviction continued and within a month a peace settled in my heart that this decision would put my family and me on the path to Heaven and change us for the better until then. I turned in my resignation letter to the best manager I have ever had in November of 2017 and took my family to Arizona for time with God and away from all distractions. After having to move four to five times during my two month stay in Arizona I could clearly see God's hand moving to help me meet Medical Missionaries and see the need for healing everywhere I visited.
Forward, about a year forward and I'm currently a trainee at Uchee Pines Institute which is a holistic healing health institute that not only takes in guests for treatments but also trains future medical missionaries to serve in God's fields. Uchee Pines has partnered with LIGHT for an exciting opportunity for me to share what I have learned for the past nine months in Veracruz, Mexico. The goal of this month long missionary trip will be to strengthen and equip the local church members to help finish the work of the gospel through training in health and evangelism.
