Medical & funeral expenses for Joe & Gwen Palmer

Our family has suffered immensely the last few weeks with the illness and passing of our mom and grandma Gwen Palmer and the illness of our dad and grandpa Joe Palmer. We would like to provide this as an opportunity for anyone who would like to help them with continuing medical expenses and upcoming funeral expenses to donate here.

Our Mom, Gwen, became ill with Covid-19 around October 12th and was taken to the hospital on October 17th and admitted with Covid and Viral Pneumonia due to low oxygen. Her lungs continued to struggle filling with fluid in the hospital and she developed a pneumothorax that was found on October 25th. The pneumorthorax collapsed her lung on the morning of October 29th and she was rushed to the ICU and put on a ventilator and chest tubes to drain the pneumothorax. She continued to have multiple complications in the ICU and her body was tired and had fought so hard. Our mom returned to be with her Heavenly Father on October 31st at 6:04pm with family by her side and on the phone from afar.

Our Dad, Joe, became ill with Covid-19 shortly after our mom around October 16th and tested positive for Covid on October 18th and was being treated at home with medication and oxygen. He was taken to the hospital at 1am on October 26th and admitted later that day for dehydration and low oxygen. He was diagnosed with Viral Pneumonia as well and has been fighting hard to get better. He has a long road ahead of him to repair his lungs with respiratory and physical therapy. He was transferred on November 3rd to an Acute Respiratory Long Term Care Facility to help him recover so he can return home. They have told us that he will have months of healing ahead of him so he may not be able to return to work for a while.

We are so thankful to all those who have reached out to us via calls, texts, notes and letters and to those who have offered loving service with meals, flowers and a friendly ear as we go through this difficult and unexpected time we are experiencing. Your love and support is greatly felt and appreciated. Please continue to pray for healing for our dad and grandpa that he can come home to us all soon. Funeral arrangements for Gwen will be made and announced as Joe's health improves to allow for him to be there with us all.
