On Nov 4, 2023 our precious baby niece Claire Adele Guasco was brought into this world and we rejoiced!

After a perfect pregnancy and delivery, mama Toni and daddy Michael were unexpectedly thrust into every parent’s worst nightmare when Claire began experiencing difficulty breathing a few hours after delivery. Claire was airlifted from St. Tammany Hospital to Ochsner Baptist Hospital, and then transferred to Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana in order for her to receive the most specialized neonatal ICU care in the region. Claire fought for her life for 86 days and showed us the true meaning of courage.

On Monday, January 29, our sweet baby girl passed away in her mama’s arms. It was a beautiful day outside and she was free of any lines or tubes for the first time since December 13. She was finally able to feel the sunshine on her face, even if it was for a brief moment.

We are grateful for the outpouring of prayers and support for our brother and sister-in-law over the last couple of months. We are also so thankful for the medical staff at Children's Hospital New Orleans.

Baby Claire, your story will never go untold. You will never be forgotten by your friends, family, medical staff, and especially your big brother, Cody.

Claire’s mama and dada have demonstrated incredible strength, courage, and grace in a situation where most others would fall apart. Although they would never ask for this themselves, we are hoping to use this platform to allow others to offer financial support for Claire’s medical and funeral expenses.
