Our bestie "Kenny" (Mr K) was suddenly rushed to hospital on Sunday afternoon, after severely hyperventilating from ingesting water which went directly into his lungs (a condition knows as "Aspiration" - which is when food or fluid is breathed into the lungs or airways, instead of being swallowed into the oesophagus and stomach).
Kenny starting coughing up blood and had to be intubated and is now on an oxygen machine.
The amazing vet team assisted Kenny to breathe the past 24 hrs and removed 400ml of fluid off his lungs.  The family have been advised today that Kenny's vitals have shown some improvement - although it is still very touch and go. The vet team are aiming to get darling Kenny off the ventilator in a day or so, and if he can become stable, he will undergo urgent surgery to operate on his soft palette to help him breathe easier.
Kenny's current vet care is approx. $2200.00 per day + upcoming surgery. Current tally is sitting at approx. $5K (after only 24hours).
