Medical Funds for Krista

We are raising money for medical funds for Krista Ward, a kind, hard-working and fun-loving woman that gets along with everyone she meets. Krista is a well-loved  member of the Charleston Crab House family,  where she can always be counted on for a smile, funny memes and cat stories, and helping hand. Starting in October/November, right after her 26th birthday, Krista had been experiencing symptoms like dizziness, light-headedness and inter-cranial pressure which escalated to nonstop vomiting. She knew it was a bad sign when the ER doctor came back into the room asking if she had any family there with her. An MRI confirmed a three-inch tumor in her brain surrounded by a fluid-filled cyst that they call a Sonic Hedgehog Medulloblastoma. Krista underwent a successful surgery 11/16 to remove the tumor. A few weeks later she found out it was cancer. Since then, she has decided on a proton chemotherapy, an intensive six-week regimen with treatments 5x a week. Just 37 days after brain surgery, a second 2.8 x 4.8 cm tumor has been found, meaning a second surgery and recovery period are needed before she can even start the chemo. Krista is fighting for her life, and not only that, but she was kicked off her parents’ health insurance after her birthday. We are asking for donations to help supplement Krista's medical funds, including hospital stays in the ICU, TWO brain surgeries, medications, rehabilitation therapy, chemotherapy, continued medical treatment, and more.
