Medical Fundraiser for Roxann

I hope you will consider giving a gift to someone special to us. Lisa Morningstar Hammon's sister and Gloria Morningstar’s daughter, Roxann was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer - Uterine Leiomyosarcoma. It is a rare form of cancer that affects only 6 in a million women. By the time it is diagnosed it has invaded other organs.

Roxann has not been able to work since June. Some close friends have been generous with monetary gifts, but it is not nearly enough to cover all her medical bills and expenses. Her mother Gloria, has been paying all of Roxann’s expenses and her cobra insurance. Social Security Disability takes months to approve and so does Medicaid. I think it would be wonderful if we could help them.

Roxann has spent her entire career helping others by caring for developmentally disabled adults and seniors. She has a very kind heart and cares deeply for those less fortunate. She worked up until the day before her 7-hour emergency surgery at the University of Chicago hospital in June. Roxann is now on her last cycle of chemo.
