On Wednesday 2/21, while out on an afternoon run near her home in Tucson, my close friend Christy was shot. She is recovering as well as can be, thanks to the help of some wonderful Samaritans at the scene, the fantastic medical staff at Banner University Medical Center, her loving family and friends, as well as some divine intervention and/or luck. She was shot in the chest and thankfully the bullet missed her vital organs. However, the injury appears to have damaged the nerves in her right arm and chest and will impact her ability to work as a dental hygienist for quite a while. She was released from the hospital yesterday (2/28) and faces a difficult rehabilitation. Funds will go a long way to helping with medical bills and living expenses while Christy is out of work.
