Medical Fund to Support The Smiths

Hello all! My name is Chelsea. I am Lindsay's sister and I have created this page as a way to keep family and friends updated during Lucas' journey to beat cancer. I would also like to give anyone the opportunity to support them if they would like to do so. Unfortunately, as many of you know, travel and hotel expenses add up very quickly, especially right now. This page will hopefully help to lighten the load of medical and travel expenses as they begin traveling back and forth to Houston, TX for Lucas' treatment at MD Anderson.

Here is his story so far, from Lindsay:

"My husband Lucas is 43 and was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer in March. The cancer is poorly differentiated and has spread to his lymph nodes and “numerous” spots on his liver. The primary mass was on his cecum valve and was removed through surgery in March because it was causing an obstruction. After the first 2 months of chemotherapy, his scans showed the cancer had continued to spread and his lesions are still getting larger. He is now 1 month into his second round of chemo, this time with the addition of Mvasi.  He also started taking Panacur. His doctor said if he doesn’t respond to this round of chemo, he is going to send us to a larger hospital, so we went ahead and set up an appointment at MD Anderson for the week after he finishes this treatment. They will be doing new scans and giving their opinion, as well as setting up our next plan of action."
