Medical Fund for Michelle Willix

I first met Michelle in 2014 and was immediately attracted to her energy, enthusiasm  and the immensely big smile that she had on her face. Since that time I'm not sure there has ever been a time I have not seen Michelle without a smile. However, as I got to know Michelle on a more personal and deeper level the story she told about the pain that she lives in everyday touched me at a very deep level.  Michelle received a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis 23 years ago. She has lived in excruciating pain and pushes through this pain on a daily basis.  Over the years, Michelle has been on many different arthritis medications but they have only worked for short periods of time. The doctors do not know what else to try.

A little bit about Michelle, she is a bilingual Mental Health Therapist who had a private practice in the Broomfield area called Healthy Pathways. In addition to being a therapist in the Broomfield community Michelle volunteered for IGNITE Adaptive Sports and was a member of Flatirons Church.

Recently Michelle decided to pursue a lifelong dream of traveling and volunteering in places around the US and the world. In February 2017 after 11 years of service she closed her business in Broomfield and started across the United States stopping at different locations visiting friends and family.  She had hoped to volunteer but didn’t have enough time or energy to be able to do that. When she got to Florida her arthritis flared EVEN MORE and has been so bad she had to postpone the rest of her US travels.

Michelle's father lives in Florida and she is currently using his home as a healing clinic. Her RA has been very angry for the past 3 months, especially in her hands and wrists. For the past two  months she has woken up most nights with shooting pain which has caused her to cry out in the night, even the sheets touching her joints have created pain and wake her up in the night. Using her hands for basic things such as closing her hands, turning her hands over, putting on a seat belt, cutting food, brushing her hair, and putting and taking off clothes has been painful and difficult. All the  available medications for RA  have not worked. There is one more medication that insurance has denied and her doctor is appealing it.

Michelle’s days are consisting of meditating in the morning, sitting in the infrared sauna, eating a vegan mostly raw diet, drinking green juices, napping a lot, and trying to meditate again in the evening. It has been a rough season for Michelle and her travel plans are now unknown. She says “I am sitting with that unknown and trusting the right thing will happen because it always does. I know God has this, that all is well, and this too shall pass.”

When I talk with Michelle she is always hesitant to bring up the pain that she is experiencing. In our last conversation I could hear the pain in her voice as she stated she really did not want to talk about her medical condition. I let her know I came across a man named Jon Connelly who does Rapid Resolution Therapy and is located very close to her father's home. Jon has experience working with clients with difficult experiences and medical conditions, including RA, and has had some extremely positive results with his clients. I asked Michelle to contact him and see if he had any availability to get her in for a session. Michelle currently does not have an income and needs help in raising the money to cover the cost of this Rapid Resolution Therapy session which is currently set for Thursday May 18th.

When thinking about Michelle remember how you feel when you are around her… The LOVE SHE GIVES to all those she touches, the HUGE SMILE she always wears and her GENEROUS HEART.  This is the time for us all to come together to help serve Michelle as she has served others. Michelle often says “all I want as my role in this world; to be a positive influence in the lives of others, to bring hope, and to help people see their true beauty and true self.”

In Michelle's words, “I appreciate any prayers and I pray for complete healing, for the strength to keep going, for persistence in the pain, to remember to keep surrendering to love and light, to keep hope alive, to find beauty everywhere, and see the joy in my life.”

Donations however big or small are greatly appreciated.  If you are unable to donate please send prayers for Michelle’s healing.

Let's make this happen!
