Medical Fund for Lucas Chica

“On Monday Lucas had a high fever (104) and was throwing up. This continued to Wednesday. But on Wednesday I noticed an odd rash on his head and little tiny purple/red dots all over his face. I took him to the ER where he was diagnosed with strep/COVID. As the days continued, he only seemed to decline. He started acting lethargic and like his body was hurting. I grew more concerned so I brought him to Brenners Childrens ER on Saturday.

They did blood tests and ruled that he most likely has a form of cancer. On Sunday (the 30th) the oncologist came to see us and confirmed it was leukemia. Monday the 31st in the morning they will take some bone marrow and decide what kind of leukemia it is.”

The Chicas will be staying at Brenner’s Children’s hospital with Lucas throughout his stay.
