This is Law King F. Sambahon (LK). He was a very happy and playful 10-month-old baby living in the Philippines. Two months ago, he had a fever with no other symptoms. Paracetamol was given. Then, two days later, he developed a cough and enlargement of the anterior neck, leading to admission at Malasin General Hospital with a diagnosis of non-severe epiglottitis.
He was transferred to Region 2 Trauma and Medical Center in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya. But because the hospital doesn't have a Cardiac Catheterization Lab, they could only provide maximized treatment, and he was referred again to the Philippine Heart Center. Unfortunately, the hospital was at full capacity, and he ended up on a waiting list. He is on the 42nd day of staying at Region 2 Medical Center. While staying there, he developed a blood clot, brain atrophy, and a retropharyngeal abscess that made his condition worse.
Right now, LK is at the Philippine Heart Center. Two days ago, he celebrated his first birthday at the PICU. He is now diagnosed with Pseudo Aneurysm (Neck), Internal Carotid Artery with Intramural Hematoma, lateral neck, right transverse sinus thrombosis, clinical sepsis (Candida Parapsilosis), retropharyngeal abscess, lateral neck, right resolve.
LK needs help for his surgery that will cost 1.3M pesos, or $23,000, not including medications and hospital bills. Any bit of help is truly and deeply appreciated.
