On Thursday November 8th, Easton became very ill and his parents, Brent & Kelly, took him to the emergency room in Springfield, Oregon. Prior to that he had been sick with a virus for two months and it was progressively getting worse. He was transferred by ambulance to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon to receive a higher level of care.
Along with his virus, his adenoids and tonsils were too large and inflamed and the decision was made to remove them. Since the tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy, Easton has continued to battle the virus and was also diagnosed with pneumonia. It will take a long time for his lungs to heal and for him to bounce back. He is currently sedated & intubated, breathing with help from a ventilator, and receiving the nutrition he needs through a feeding tube. He is receiving the very best medical care possible in the pediatric ICU.
The course of treatment and Brent and Kelly’s length of stay in Portland with him is indefinite at this time. We are asking for help to assist in reducing not only their medical and travel expenses, but also to ease their financial burden. Any and all donations that are made will go to upcoming and unknown expenses while Easton is recovering.
