My name is Alejandro Marquez and I would like to share some news that for me and my family has been devastating. Three weeks ago, August 26th my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer; these three weeks have been very difficult and filled with uncertainty, labs, visits to doctors and specialists and a lot of tests to determine which treatment was right for him. My dad has always been a hard-working man, active and very responsible. Unfortunately, the first part of April he also lost his job after having worked at the same place for 34 years.

This has been very devastating for my siblings, my mom and myself and for the rest of the family. We know that we face some very difficult times since one is never prepared for such an illness. We thank God that my dad has started his first treatment and at these moments he is dealing with the secondary effects of chemotherapy. My family and myself know that this road will be very long and difficult but we have a lot of faith that everything will be fine and my dad will recuperate his health.
