Hi, my name is Danny, and I’m raising funds to help fulfill my father’s final wish.
My dad is suffering from pulmonary fibrosis, and his doctors believe he will most likely pass away this year. His condition is already very serious — he can still talk, but he has to stop often just to catch his breath. It’s heartbreaking to witness, especially since I currently live in Switzerland and will be traveling soon to Greenville, South Carolina to be by his side.
His final wish is simple and deeply human: to go back to Colombia, the country where he was born, and spend his last days in peace, surrounded by family and the place he calls home.
Our family in Colombia is very close to us and has already prepared to welcome him. They are more than ready to care for him with love and support. What makes this even more emotional is that his parents — my grandparents — are both still alive. My grandfather is turning 99 this year, and my grandmother 100. Watching their son go before them is something no parent should ever have to experience, and it’s truly heartbreaking for all of us to see.
Due to his condition, my dad is no longer allowed to fly on regular commercial flights. The only safe way for him to travel to Colombia is through a specialized medical flight, which costs $55,000 USD.
I’m a 25-year-old student living in Switzerland. I don’t have any money myself, as I’m fully focused on my studies and living on a tight budget. I’m doing everything I can to make this happen, but I can’t do it alone.
We’re asking for your help to make this possible — to give my dad the chance to go home one last time and say goodbye where it all began.
Even the smallest donation can make a difference, and if you can’t donate, simply sharing this story means the world to us.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for any support you can give.
