Please help us with a medical flight from Arizona to Arkansas for our dear mother, Chrysti Rubisch. On Thursday, March 18th, her husband, Steve, came home from work and noticed stroke like symptoms. Steve took her to the ER where a brain bleed was detected. She was quickly life-flighted from Yuma, AZ to Barrows Neurological Institute in Phoenix. On March 24th, she underwent an eight-hour long surgery to remove the larger of two brain tumors—they were unable to remove the smaller tumor. She has slowly been recovering from the surgery at Barrows and making steady progress each day. She is still unable to move the right side of her body, but can feel sensation and is hopeful that with therapy she will regain movement.
The pathology report came back April 2nd and our worst fears came true. The tumor was a Stage 4 glioblastoma, the most aggressive and fast spreading in the glioma family—the same type of tumor that took the life of Chrysti’s youngest brother almost 6 years ago.
The median survival rate for this type of tumor is 12-18 months with treatment. We are completely devastated by this news but we are pressing on with faith and hope. The most important things in Chrysti’s life is the Gospel of Jesus Christ and her family. As soon as Chrysti is strong enough to travel, we will be flying her from Phoenix, AZ to Rogers, Arkansas so she can receive treatment and around-the-clock-care from her siblings, children, and many loved ones.
As one can imagine, a flight of this nature—one that will provide her with a medical team and the care she needs—is extremely costly. Please help us off-set the cost and get her home to Arkansas as safely as possible. Any donation, no matter the size, will help us get our Kiki here. Thank you so much for your love, prayers, and support.
