Medical Expenses-Dennis Blumentritt -Lymphoma

Donation protected

We’ve known Dennis and Kara Blumentritt for close to 8 years. He has a heart of gold and always willing to help me or take on any house adventure or project I can think up for him. We worked side by side for months fixing up and flipping a rental property in 2019. They have become more like 2nd parents to me and mean the world to our family. ❤️

Dennis has been a Home Inspector and handy man for over 13 years and In September 2017 he broke his heel. And after 2 major surgeries and 11 months off he was back at work.

Dennis had his 1st Vaccine on February 9th. Then, the snowmegaden happened mid February and that is when his family noticed he was losing weight even though he was eating.

On March 4th he had his 2nd vaccine and started complaining about feeling full and waking at night about every hour and half to go to the bathroom. He continued losing weight and noticed his lymph nodes were larger in multiple places. He waited to contact his GP because enlarged lymph nodes were a side effect of the vaccine.

Finally, he scheduled a visit with his GP and a CT scan was ordered for the next day. On Thursday night Dr. Feehery called and his calcium level was extremely high and he suspected Dennis had lymphoma. If he started feeling sick or nausea to go to the emergency room asap.

They met with the Oncologist on Monday, April 5th. His calcium was even higher and IF he was having night sweats or other side effects, he would be put in the hospital asap. Instead, he was put on hydration for the next 6 days. Along with another drug to help keep his calcium in his bones and not leaching into his blood stream. He had a lymph node biopsy on April 14th that came back inclusive so then he had a lymph node removed on April 26th. On April 28th they were told it was Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma.

He started chemo on May 11th. The chemo for his type of lymphoma is called RCHOP. It’s 6 treatments every 3 weeks. The chemo treatments last for 2 days followed by bloodwork on the 3rd day. He will have his 3rd treatment on 22nd. After about 8-9 days he is good to do small jobs, however, each treatment causes more fatigue. His last treatment will be on August 24th.

They have contacted several medical financial assistant programs and told, at this time, there are no funds available. I’m creating this in hopes of helping them through his illness and to relieve the financial burden this has put them under as he owns his own business and they will have zero income for close to 6 months.

My prayer is that you feel led to help if even just with prayers.
