Hi everyone. I’m doing this Go Fundme on behalf of my dad William “Wild Will” MacLean. Anyone who knows my dad knows he has had breathing problems for a VERY long time due to his COPD among other heart concerns. His medical expenses have never been a problem as he has full coverage from the VA due to being a 100% disabled veteran. This time it is a little different. While on his way home from Brazil he had a layover in Bogata Columbia that turned into an almost four week stay in the ICU for a pulmonary embolism. While we have never had issues with his insurance this time the VA claims they do not pay outside of the United States and we had to apply for a special program called FMP that can takes several months to be approved , if approved at all. (The VA is being very difficult at this time) In the mean time the hospital has been harassing a brother who took my dad to the hospital and stayed by his side the whole time making sure he was taken care of, got everything he could of needed, and helped keep us back home updated on his condition. While dad would normally not care about the bill and rather it go to collections, he does not want them to continue harass a good man who was just there trying to help him. Any assistance is greatly appreciated
