Medical expenses to cure Rick Shaw's cancer

We have an urgent request and need to raise these funds by the end of June 2019.
Rick was diagnosed in late 2015 with an aggressive case of Metastatic Thyroid Cancer. It has been so aggressive that he has had a surgery each year since January 2016 as the cancer keeps returning. His latest and fourth surgery in early December cut his vocal cords. We did not know and you may not know that if you lose your vocal cords you cannot breath, so during surgery they had to insert a trach (tube in his throat). The trach has caused several complications with breathing, eating, and drinking fluids (even water). He now has no voice except for barely a whisper. If you know Rick at all this is especially devastating as he is an encyclopedia of information and loves to talk.
After the surgery, we were told that his cancer is Stage IV (which is terminal) and is now in his lungs. He went through 33 daily treatments of radiation on the throat/neck/upper chest area, finishing in early March. After this aggressive radiation he has had a slow recovery and since the surgery has lost over 60 pounds. We are now waiting for a PET scan on June 7th to find out the results on June 13th if the radiation was successful at putting this aggressive Thyroid cancer in remission for the time being. The only option they have for the lung cancer is for him to take two daily medications for the rest of his life to hopefully slow the cancer progression. The doctor can’t say how long he will live but said the average is two years and some have lived six years.
We are aware of someone who was cured of his cancer, after the doctors told him they could no longer do anything for him, by finding a doctor who was using alternative methods. The doctor’s name is James Forsythe and his practice is in Reno, NV. Dr. Forsythe has been a practicing M.D. Oncologist for 58 years, and became Board certified as a homeopathic doctor 18 years ago so he could incorporate homeopathic with traditional medicine to perform what is called integrative medicine. We made an appointment and recently spent over four hours in the clinic to learn about the procedures Dr. Forsythe uses to eradicate the cancer without the traditional side effects of sickness and hair loss from Chemo. Using their method they have had a much higher success rate to cure cancer even in situations were other medical professionals have said it is not curable. They seemed confident and we believe that this could work for Rick. The only problem we are incurring is that this procedure is extremely expensive, not covered by insurance, and needs to be paid at the time of the procedures. So we are eliciting help to fund this procedure and would be extremely grateful and appreciative for any amount you can donate.
