Medical expenses, housing, and basic necessities

Update: Based on the severity of Heathers situation and the projected amount of time it will take her to return to any sort of normalcy with the possibility of working again, I was advised by several people to raise our goal. As time goes on it will be adjusted as necessary. 

10/21/22: Heather’s drain tube has become dislodged from its original position and she has been taken to the ER by ambulance.  

Hi, my name is Amber. I am setting up this GoFundMe for my aunt Heather Walker to raise funds to offset any medical expenses and help pay for her and her family's basic needs at this time. Here is her story...

As a mother and wife, Heather has consistently put her needs on the back burner while caring for Dr appointments for her son and her husband. She was also the sole income provider for their family because of her husband's inability to work due to back injuries that limit his mobility. I had watched over the past several months as she pushed herself to go to work when she was very ill because they needed the income, even taking on a second job to make ends meet. Eventually, though, her symptoms got so bad she couldn't ignore them, and she ended up in the ER on August 21 with a severe case of pancreatitis.

During her 8.5 week stay in the hospital, she endured immense pain, several stint procedures, a feeding tube and a drain tube. She was completely bedridden for the first 7 weeks. She developed gout in her feet and a staph infection in her pancreas. The hospital has released her. However, she has a long road to recovery and will not be able to work for what we are guessing may be several more months. At this point, she can barely stand unassisted and still has the feeding and drain tube.

Any assistance, donations, or prayers on her behalf is greatly appreciated. Donations will be used to pay rent, so they don't lose their home in this process, quarters for the laundromat, toiletries, any medical items or bills not covered by insurance, winter clothing for her son, and gas to and from Dr appointments. All donations will be handled and dispersed accordingly by me.
