Let’s help the Greer family! On August 3, Tyler was thrown from his horse while working cows in the Big Horn Mountains. They suspect he was kicked on the right side of his face as he fell.
He has undergone reconstructive surgery and has a long road of recovery ahead of him.
Here is part of a post by Amber, Tyler’s wife from August 6:
We are beyond humbled by all of the prayers, love, support, and offers to help since Tyler’s accident.
While we know that the recovery road will be bumpy, we also know that we serve an amazing God. When we think of all of the “what ifs” or “what could have beens”, it is evident to us that God was present in this whole situation.
Tyler is at the best care facility that he can be in, his nose was not crushed, his eyes are not damaged, and his teeth are intact, his brain never swelled, his vitals never waivered, all of his organs are undamaged, he has no tingling or nerve damage, and the list could continue on and on. We praise God for all of this!
All that being said, Tyler has successfully gone through surgery and is happy to be put back together again. They sewed up a laceration on his cheek, plated his left jaw and one of his cheek bones, as well as wired the mouth together so the upper right jaw can heal. The doctors explained that they fixed the “pillar bones” and that they are relying on the body to repair the many other small breaks. When I asked what was broken exactly, they replied with, “His whole face. If there is a bone in there that could break, it did.”
