Medical Expenses For Stuff That Didn't Work

Donation protected

Hi, guys.
Regretfully, Maggie, Human Cat Daughter, Best Friend, Most Perfect Angel and Number One Cutie, passed away on Saturday, June 18th.
It being the day before my 10th Father's Day without my dead dad, I have suspicions that he may have taken her to be like - ok, you got a decade, now give me my cat back.
(Upon additional reflection, they both died of cardiac arrest, so I think it was definitely him.)

If you never met Maggie, that sucks but you probably got to hear me talk about her a lot. She was the most best and special person I ever met and I miss her an awful lot.

Being the fancy cat she is, she racked up an extraordinary amount of medical bills before she passed away. In March, we discovered she had a really serious heart condition that is genetic in Maine Coons, and after a night in the ER, she came home with a twice a day medicine regimen. She had a rough follow up earlier this month, but the doctor had seemed sure she would make it to her next follow up in July.

I opened up a credit card specifically to put her expenses on that's interest free for awhile, but fuck, medical expenses for cats are pretty insane. She had three ER visits, follow-ups, procedures, four different medications, new food, and it added up to about $4,250 scary dollars. When the world opens up, that'll be good, but with no real end in sight, it's stressful to have this over my head in addition to whatever other debts I have racked up (There are a few! I'm bad with money!) Since I usually work in production, COVID has made working impossible, so without any income, the debt is looming. Any help would be amazing.

How did it get so expensive?
Here you go:
ER/Urgent Care visits: $3067
Medication: $334
Follow ups and procedures: $497
Pill giving supplies, new food: $150
Aftercare: $183

You literally don't have to donate at all, seriously, I know the world is burning and many of us - myself included - don't have jobs. But, good pal and cat friend Steph Ritter said it wasn't the most horrible idea in the world to ask for some help, and she is very smart.

Anyways. Any help is cool, no help is cool, just looking at all these adorable pictures of Maggie is cool.

The picture above says Safe Travels, Maggie, but I couldn't figure out how to get that part in there, but it's my favorite picture from when Maggie came home to Boston with me while I learned how to not be such a raging alcoholic.

Fun Fact: Maggie's full name was The Magnetic Fields Durickas, but Maggie for short. It was so dumb and it made me happy.

Also, Maggie loved TV. We had all the same favorite murder shows. She had impeccable taste.
