Medical Expenses for Sofia

In October of 2020, little Sofia (my niece) was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma Cancer.  The tumor was found in her abdomen, but the cancer has also spread to her bone marrow.  The youngest of 5 children, Sofia will require several different treatments including surgery, chemo, bone marrow transplant, and radiation.

Sofia made it through the first surgery, removing the tumor.  Only about half of the tumor was removed due to a rupture of an artery next the kidney.  The doctors are hoping that the rest of the tumor will disintegrate over time to avoid another surgery.  After a short ICU stay, she is starting her chemo treatments.

This gofundme is to help cover the expenses for out of town treatments and medical expenses.  Sofia's father works in construction, but due to COVID-19 his contract has been terminated and they have been using their savings since the end of June.
