Medical Expenses for Savannah and her Baby Boy
Donation protected
Just a short week ago, we were celebrating Savannah and her baby at the sweetest Harry Potter themed, baby shower. It was truly magical and just the most beautiful day. Savannah couldn’t have felt more loved and excited to welcome her baby boy, due February 13, 2024.
On Wednesday December 6, 2023, the unthinkable happened. Savannah went to bed with a migraine, something she’s struggled with for years. Her partner woke to her having a seizure. She was rushed to Hartford Hospital, unresponsive and had to have an emergency C-section at only 30 weeks pregnant. The baby was in distress and it was uncertain if he was going to make it. Savannah was resuscitated and put on a ventilator. She was diagnosed with a hemorrhagic stroke, eclampsia, HELLPs syndrome (leading to kidney failure, liver failure, pancreatitis, and pulmonary edema) and other complications of pregnancy.
This has been one of the most heart wrenching, terrifying couple of days for her family and close friends. Our thoughts and prayers have been strong and pleading.
If you know Savannah, you know she’s a strong willed and determined soul. Currently her organs are showing signs of recovery, and she’s slowly becoming more and more responsive. Her baby boy is a fighter like his momma and continuing to get stronger everyday in the NICU. He’s truly a miracle and absolutely beautiful. Auntie Shannon and his daddy are by his and Savannah’s side every day.
To say this has been the unthinkable is an understatement. Savannah is a beautiful, healthy individual who loves adventure, traveling, the outdoors and her family. We are unsure how long this long road to recovery will be, but we have no doubt that she’ll continue fighting to soon be with her baby and raise him the way she’d hoped to.
Savannah is not only my best friend’s sister, but she’s also been a big sister to me for the last 20+ years. On behalf of her family and friends, I am asking for the support of our community to come together to help with the extensive medical bills and recovery of Savannah and her sweet baby.
Please keep them in your prayers ♥️
