Medical expenses for Sandhya

Hi, I’m Chow Hoong and I’m raising funds for my beloved wife of 37 years, Sandhya, to cover medical expenses for a complicated surgery

(called “Whipple”) and breast cancer treatment .

Both of us are self employed,teaching music and vocals whilst being extremely active in community service helping people with counselling.

Sandhya is the kind of person who will drop everything to reach out to help loved ones and her kindness knows no bounds.

Unexpectedly, Sandhya was struck by severe jaundice this August caused by a blocked bile duct tumour and intensive care costs incurred for initial treatment amounted to RM 90,000 (£15k). She needs a complex digestive bypass surgery (called “Whipple”) that is highly risky and requires specific specialist skills and would cost around an estimated Rm 200,000 (£35k)with more expected in the event of complications from surgery, infection and follow up care.

Added to that, a cancerous mass in her breast was also found at the same time requiring urgent attention and needs either chemotheraphy or a lumpectamy in the near future. Expenses for chemo, treatment and follow up will be in addition to the RM 290,000 (£50k) above. Despite this news, Sandhya remains resilient and very determined to fight this.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any medical insurance and have been relying on our savings with help from family and friends. With mounting medical bills and inability to work, any contribution will make a tremendous difference to Sandhya and to support us during this challenging time. We are so grateful for any funds to help cover these medical costs as she starts treatments.

We are based in Malaysia however as the go fund me platform isn’t supported here, we’ve asked one of our dear friends from the UK,Colin Payne, to act as beneficiary for funds gathering.
