Funeral Expenses for Rose Nangca

It is hard enough to watch a loved one, especially a mother, in the throes of death, in great pain, suffering, slowly drifting away before your very eyes.  It is even harder to lose a loved one and still worry about funeral costs, especially during this time of pandemic.  As a close friend of the Nangca family, I am appealing to your generous hearts, and asking for your help in raising funds to cover her funeral costs.  
   Rose, who hailed from Bacoor, Cavite, Philippines, was born on November 29, 1941.  She was a devoted mother, a great cook, and loved to whip up delicious meals that delighted friends and family.  More than her cooking and her love for gardening, she is mostly remembered for her great faith, a faith that she beautifully passed on to her children.   
   Her husband, Fanny Nangca, of Lucban, Quezon, now also deceased, migrated to the U.S. in the early 1990’s.  Together, they founded the first praesidium of the Legion of Mary at St. Boniface Church, San Francisco.  It was in this same parish church where she became an active member of an all-Filipino choir singing at masses and special events.  She was also a dedicated volunteer at the St. Anthony Foundation for many years.  
   Rose worked as a caregiver for more than 20 years, diligent, gentle, and well-loved by those she cared for.  More than two years ago, she was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer.  This year, her health slowly deteriorated.  After a long battle, she ultimately succumbed to her illness today, October 17, 2021.
   On behalf of the Rose Nangca family, I thank you for your help and generosity.  May your kindness come back to you a hundred fold.
