Medical Expenses for Patrick Schultz

Hi, my name is Lily, and I am asking for help for our favorite hairy guy. At the beginning of this year, Patrick (aka Linus, aka Gary) went ice fishing with his family, and while helping his 9-year-old nephew take the cover off a fillet knife had the accident we all hope never to happen. The knife slipped through his hand, cutting through all the tendons in his right index and middle fingers.

After a trip to the ER, it was determined Patrick needed surgery in what the medical world calls the "no-mans land". Because of the severity of the injury, Patrick has been unable to work since January 7th, and due to a recent leap of faith move to Gunnison, he lost his health insurance in 2021. Medical bills have now reached $50,000. Patrick has to see a physical therapist twice a week, and has a long road to recovery ahead of him.

Patrick is one of the most generous people I know; always the first to lend a hand and the very last to ask for one. I have witnessed him stepping up for others more times than not, even when he had little for himself. From donating to others' GoFundMe's, running across a busy road to help a stranger move a heavy couch, and saving stray dogs abandoned in the woods. He has a heart of gold and needs our help right now!

Patrick has run snowcats in Telluride for over ten years and is the reason for many of our most memorable runs on Milk Run, Revelation Bowl, and many more.
