We are starting a fundraiser for our friends Scott and Pat Lairson. Some of you may not know, that while vacationing in Cabo, Mexico Pat contracted Covid and was admitted to a local hospital. Dealing with situations in another country are always difficult; and this was no exception. Scott incurred expenses above and beyond normal insurance coverage; in addition to the hospital demanding large deposits before they would treat Pat. Through all this, Scott was confined to his hotel room, with limited visits to see Pat and incurring unforeseen expenses due to the extended stay.

During the 12 day stay, it was evident that Pat needed to be back home in an Arizona hospital for her care. The experience of chartering a plane from Air Med, was traumatic and very expensive in the amount of $25,000 which their insurance did not cover. By the Grace of God, Pat and Scott arrived home in Arizona to Banner Desert Hospital, where Pat passed away 4 days later on July 8th. With the uninsured Air Med medical flight and the additional unexpected extended stay in Cabo, Scott incurred a total loss of $30,000 of personal expense.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service for Pat on October 23rd at 11:00am. Due to the rise in covid in our area and Scott’s desire for privacy during this time, this will be offered online rather than in person.
