If you know Scarlett Saunders Gonzalez, you know she is a force to be reckoned with and is always willing to help others. Well now its our turn to help her and her family!!
This is her story in her words:
I went back and forth about sharing this and ultimately decided to post. I’m a transparent person, I’m a person of faith, this is my reality and it’s not going away anytime soon so here goes.
On March 6th I was officially diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma. I accepted the challenge of aggressive chemotherapy followed by a stem cell transplant. However several days after my dx a plot twist came along and I learned that I am TP53+ which is a gene mutation that causes chemo resistance and I’m no longer a stem cell transplant candidate, my initial plan is off the table. There are other promising drugs that can help me. Thank God for modern medicine. I will be seeing a MCL specialist out of Northwestern.
In true spirit of who I am I will not give up and I will FIGHT! And if I become weak my village of amazing humans will help me along this journey.
My family and I will take all the positive thoughts and prayers from you beautiful FB friends and family. Love to you all.
