My 1-year-old nephew has been diagnosed with Mucopolysaccharidosis Type 6- a rare genetic condition that will impact his health and lifespan. There is no cure for this condition however, there have been positive results noted with stem cell transplant. As this is an expensive and experimental therapy, it is beyond our means to be able to afford it. He is not covered by insurance either.
