Medical expenses for Mindi’s cancer treatment

Hello! My name is Sherry, a dear friend of Mindi’s since grade school. A group of us wanted to help her so decided a Go Fund Me was a perfect fit. If you know Mindi, you know she’d never even consider asking for help, even during this incredible battle she’s fighting so with her blessing, here’s a bit of her story.

As you may or may not know, Mindi’s breast cancer diagnosis started in 2018. She recovered from that and was in remission until this past summer when she had an unfortunate horse accident that resulted in a double fracture to her hip/pelvis that led doctors to discover the cancer had spread to her liver, spine and pelvis. She was ultimately diagnosed with Metastatic breast cancer in July of ‘22. Currently she is scheduled to meet with the top breast cancer center in the world (MD Anderson in Houston) to continue treatment.

Expenses for her past, current and future treatments are more than anyone should have to bear. It’s our hope we can spread the word far and wide to Mindi’s friends, family, past and present co-workers, neighbors and even kind-hearted strangers to find it in your heart to consider donating.

Her passion for teaching is unmatched, her love for the kiddos in her classroom is remarkable, too. During this entire ordeal she’s continued to work and be there for her students, school, co-workers and parents. You will not find another teacher who loves their job as much as she does. With her latest set back though, she’s had to limit work days to half-days but is grateful for the extra time that gives to being with her family.

Mindi, her husband Joe and her daughter Mia (11) have so much on their plates at this time so having a few less medical bills would allow extra time to focus on the more important things in life. Mindi would also love to spend time with Mia, giving her the much needed lessons only a mom can deliver while still letting her be a regular pre-teen kid creating special memories with one another.
