Medical Expenses For Mary's Transplant

Hey everyone. My name is Samantha Arguelles, and I am Mary Gregerson’s daughter. As some of you might know, Mary has had Smoldering Myeloma (a preliminary finding of blood cancer) for several years now. She has been extremely lucky in that she has not needed treatment for it as it was considered stable.

 

 

 

 

Unfortunately, this last year the cancer cells have increased to a point of needing treatment to stop the spread. Mary began chemo in June and has been doing reasonably well with this treatment. 

 

 

 

The next step in treatment for Multiple Myeloma is a stem cell transplant. This will tentatively take place on November 15th, 2021 at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. This type of transplant will require her to stay at the Gift of Life Transplant House for up to 2 months, under constant supervision. She will have daily appointments and she will need someone to stay with her the entire time.

 

 

As you can imagine, the cost of insurance, prescriptions, travel, lodging, food, and other necessities is quite lofty with a two month stay. That is why I am asking for assistance to make sure the financial burden does not weigh on her while she is fighting to rid her body of cancer. Anything you can donate would be greatly appreciated, as well as sharing this page to reach more people.

 

 

Mary has always been one to put others first, often putting her own problems on the backburner to make sure her friends and family are taken care of. Now is the time to return all the love and care she has given, and make sure she feels loved and cared for during this challenging time.

***There will also be a sign up for caregivers to make sure she has someone with her at all times as well. This will include staying overnight at the transplant house with her and going to her daily appointments.
