Hi, my name is Jose and Maria is the mother to my kids. Jerry 17, Layhla 15, Ana 11, and Bella 4. She unfortunately has fallen into a coma caused by a brain aneurism. Maria, her parents , and the three girls went to El Salvador on Aug 2nd for a vacation before school started. On the morning of Tuesday August 9th, Maria was rushed to the hospital. She complained of a headache and within a couple hours was nonverbal and taken away in the ambulance. She is in a coma until her body stabilizes and the swelling in her brain goes down. The doctors don’t have a timeline of when that could be. She isn’t stable enough to fly back to the states and the kids have to leave without their mom. No child should have to go through that.

Last summer, (2021) Maria was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a double mastectomy. After chemo, she beat the cancer in February 2022. For the last year, Maria and her kids have been through more than they deserve.

Maria has been through a lot and always looks for the positive in everything. She is always one to lend a helping hand even if she doesn’t have much to give. She is a great mother to her kids and always found a way to make things happen. It’s sad to see this happen to such a great person. I know she is not one to ask for help but this time I’m sure she would be grateful for anything we can help with. All funds will go to helping with any medical bills she has since she doesn’t have insurance in El Salvador. Anything the kids need & hopefully once she stabilizes, the costs will go to transferring her home to Kansas.
