Meet Mandipa
Mandipa is a beautiful 2-month-old baby who was born with Down syndrome (Trisomy 21). Like many children with Down syndrome, she was also born with a serious heart condition called Tetralogy of Fallot.
In simple terms, this means Mandipa’s heart did not form correctly, and it is not able to pump oxygen-rich blood around her body as it should. Without corrective heart surgery, this condition can become life-threatening.
The good news is that Tetralogy of Fallot can be treated with surgery, and many children go on to live healthy, active lives after the procedure.
The challenge is that this specialised heart surgery is not currently available in Zimbabwe. To give Mandipa a chance at life, her surgery must be done outside the country, which comes with significant medical, travel, and accommodation costs.
Mandipa is still very small, but she is strong, and she deserves the chance to grow, play, and thrive. Her family is doing everything possible to help her—but they cannot do it alone.
Your donation, no matter the size, will help bring Mandipa one step closer to the life-saving heart surgery she urgently needs.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this page also makes a huge difference.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and for being part of Mandipa’s journey.
