So as we all know EMS isn’t just a profession. It is a family. We all share in each other’s life experiences, and sometimes those experiences aren’t so great. We also don’t make the type of money that just grows on trees. So I’m asking for your help!
Little Lexie Lou took a terrible fall, as kids often do, and sustained some pretty serious orthopedic injuries. While on vacation she fell, and broke her femur. Severely enough she had to be airlifted from the scene to Vanderbilt University. She has undergone her first, and hopefully only surgery. The doctors were able to place surgical steel rods in her leg, but she will have months of healing and physical therapy ahead of her. This little firecracker isn’t one who goes down without a fight! She’s taking this entire endeavor like the champ she is!
She comes from a long line of fighters! Her mother (Katie Tanner), father(Craig Hunt), and step father (Aaron Tanner) are all paramedics, and are mentally and physically equipped to take care of her while she heals. They are the best of the best! Again, in this profession we do not make the money to take care of emergencies like this easily.
I’m calling on all first responders, and non first responders as well to band together to help this family. Lexie Lou has a long road ahead of her, and with that comes doctors visits, physical therapy, and medical equipment. This doesn’t even include the helicopter ride to the hospital, emergency surgery, and specialized transport home. These things can add up quickly! Let’s get together and help them out! Anything helps! Thank you all in advance for your gifts!
Stay safe out there!
