Medical Expenses for Leslie Nunez

In recent moths, my mother has had a series of serious health care challenges that has precipitated my involvement in their care and rehabilitation. Mom and dad are low wealth and over the years, they have both managed several chronic health issues including diabetes, liver disease, heart disease, renal failure, hearing loss, and gout. As you might imagine the needs and expenses are many and as an individual managing this care, my resources are few. All of these circumstances led me to to the decision to move my parents to my home here in Louisville, KY in August 2019. It's a blessing that I am able to help my family in this way and provide a home full of love and care, as nursing homes and care in their NC home proved to be too much for them handle.
Although she has been getting lots of great in home health care and has amazing doctors here in Louisville, the associated home health care costs, co-pays, and healthy food, our collective resources have been stretched thin. This also makes us unable to get her alternative therapies such as EMDR (a form of psychotherapy used to treat PTSD), acupuncture, or therapeutic massage that would improve their health outcomes by strengthening their souls and increasing their bodies' resiliency.
I am seeking help to offset the costs of respite care, co-pays, CNA, costs, transportation to/from doctors' appointments, medications, medical supplies and equipment, healthy food, and home cleaning. Since their arrival, their weekly out-of-pocket costs are $200. So, all contributions will help, but here are some examples of how different levels of contribution can help:
$5 - 2 packs of adult wipes
$10 - 6 single servings of nutritional drinks
$15 - one package of adult diapers
$20- 1 CNA visit
$20 - round trip transportation to a doctor's appointment with wheelchair/walker assists and accompanying mom in/out of the visit
$30 - one week of fresh fruits and vegetables
$40 - one week of diapers
$45- Gas round trip to NC$45 - one office visit co-pay
$50 - one acupuncture visit
$75 - one hour of therapeutic massage
$85- Home Cleaner
Deductibles have been met so prescription copays are free at this point but that will only be until the end of 2019.
In the next few moths we will be moving their home items to Louisville so any additional funds raised will go to help cover this cost.
