As many of you know, things happen in life suddenly and unexpectedly. Lachee Malley Fairchild was going about her regular day as a nurse when she started experiencing severe abdominal pain that brought her to the ER. Less than 24 hours later she was going in for emergency surgery to remove a intestinal abscess and mass which left her with a colostomy bag that can hopefully be removed in the future. After a week in the hospital and weeks of waiting for test results she was diagnosed with Stage 3 ColoRectal cancer. Being a mother of 6 and only 40 years old, this was a huge blow to our family. Lachee has 3 biological children aged 21, 20, and 18. About 5 years ago they opened their hearts and their home to the first of 3 sisters that would soon be adopted by them. Amelia was born prematurely and they waited with her everyday in the NICU until they could bring her home. A year later, an older sister of Amelia’s came to their home. Less than 2 years after that, another sister was born. All of the girls have the same biological mother and Lachee and her husband Thomas wanted to keep them together. Amelia Hope is now 5, Madelyn Faith is 11, and Emma Grace is 3. Emma was also born prematurely and due to the biological mothers drug use while pregnant with her, she is now a special needs child. She has spastic cerebral palsy and is still unable to walk or communicate. Caring for her is a full time job with 3 different therapies a week and different doctors appointments. Thomas recently quit his job before her diagnosis to stay home with the girls and be able to care for Emma full time. Although they were blessed to have insurance, a high deductible has left them with mounting medical bills. Lachee is starting chemotherapy, radiation, and IV vitamin therapy which is adding to the growing medical costs. First and foremost, we ask for your prayers for healing and strength as Laches goes through this time. We serve an awesome God and know everything is in his hands. We also know that this is a tough time for everyone but are asking if you feel led to contribute that you do so. We thank you for any way that you can help!
